the stories we tell ourselves

We all have them — quiet, inherited, unquestioned beliefs about who we are. Many of them were formed before we had the words to challenge them. Others crept in later through experience, repetition, or the voices of people we trusted.

Somewhat recently, I uncovered one of mine.

It was a belief I’d carried for years. A belief that had shaped the way I showed up, the risks I didn’t take, and the ways I held myself back. It whispered to me in subtle moments — telling me who I was, what I could expect, what I didn’t deserve.

But here’s the truth: it wasn’t true.
It had never been true.
And realizing that shifted something in me.

We talk a lot about healing, growth, alignment — but one of the most powerful things we can do on this journey is get curious about the stories running in the background of our lives. Not the big obvious ones, but the quiet narratives we’ve accepted as fact:

  • “I’m not the kind of person who…”

  • “This always happens to me.”

  • “I have to work harder than everyone else.”

  • “I’m too much. I’m not enough.”

These beliefs become lenses — shaping what we see, what we believe is possible, and how we interact with the world. And until we slow down long enough to hear them, we can’t change them.

That’s why creating space — silence, stillness, pause — is essential.
It’s in the quiet that the noise starts to separate from the truth.
It’s in the quiet that you can hear yourself again.

Uncovering a false belief isn’t just a moment of clarity — it’s an act of liberation. It’s reclaiming your voice, your choice, your identity.

You are not your programming.
You are not your past.
You are not what someone else once said about you.

You are the author of your story.
And it’s never too late to rewrite the parts that were never yours to carry.

✨ I just recorded a short video sharing the story of how I uncovered one of these untrue beliefs — and the ripple it created in my life. It’s honest, personal, and I hope it helps you reflect on what might be hiding beneath the surface for you, too.

If it resonates, I’d love to hear from you — what beliefs are you re-examining? What stories are ready to be released?

This work is quiet but powerful. And you don’t have to do it alone.

🐾 Lily’s Corner
Sometimes the loudest bark isn’t truth — it’s just fear dressed up in a fancy collar.

Get quiet. Curl up. Listen deeper.
That whisper you hear under all the noise?
That’s you. And you’re worth trusting.

With love and hedgehogs,
Lily 🐾✨
